ISMRM SYLLABUS: PULMONARY MRA FOR PULMONARY EMBOLUS DETECTION Course: Lung (Weekday educational course)

ثبت نشده
چکیده

Highlights: • Magnetic resonance imaging has become a viable imaging modality for clinical use in the detection of pulmonary embolism (PE) • Low flip angle T1-weighted 3D gradient echo sequences, combined with noncontrast steady state free precession sequences, improve detection rate for PE compared with MR angiography alone • Newer image acquisition methods that correct for motion artifact allow for the use of MRI for PE detection even in patients that are unable to breath hold.

MR Diagnosis of a Pulmonary Embolism: Comparison of P792 and Gd-DOTA for First-Pass Perfusion MRI and Contrast-Enhanced 3D MRA in a Rabbit Model

OBJECTIVE To compare P792 (gadomelitol, a rapid clearance blood pool MR contrast agent) with gadolinium-tetraazacyclododecanetetraacetic acid (Gd-DOTA), a standard extracellular agent, for their suitability to diagnose a pulmonary embolism (PE) during a first-pass perfusion MRI and 3D contrast-enhanced (CE) MR angiography (MRA). MATERIALS AND METHODS A perfusion MRI or CE-MRA was performed in...

Missile pulmonary embolus secondary to abdominal gunshot wound

Missile pulmonary emboli are rare sequelae of traumatic entry of projectile missiles-generally bullets or bullet fragments-in which access to the systemic venous circulation is established by the missile, making it possible for the missile to migrate to the pulmonary arteries. In the case introduced here, a 24-year-old male presented to the ER with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. In the early c...
